The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing. Edmund Burke

FOUR YEAR ANNIVERSARY
On November 26, 2008, Pax Americana Institute will celebrate its four year anniversary. The impressive growth and support our Institute has received in its young tenure reflects the sheer importance and urgency of our mission. As our internship, research, and publication programs expand, increased support for Pax Americana Institute will be necessary to ensure the virtues of classical conservatism continue to prosper within the civic and personal lives of our fellow Midwesterners. As liberal forces continue to co-opt the direction of our society, it is imperative that your support becomes a reality in size and strength.
For the PAI Vision Plan for the next four years, contact the Executive Director, Drew Davis, at execdirector@paxamerica.org. We will resist as liberals persist.
Fellow Conservative Friends,
The presidential election results were a devastating blow to the conservative ideology; but it was not the death of the conservative movement as so many liberal pundits are claiming. The nation certainly did not give liberals, or the Democrats, a mandate or majority on their platform. Never has there been a more important time in this nation's history for conservatives to unite together. As one will notice, the Midwest has been increasingly for the past several election cycles. As the leading voice of classical conservatism in the Midwest, the Pax Americana Institute is determined to bring back conservatism to America's Heartland. Without your dedication and support, however, this will not be a possibility. Pax Americana Institute is going to be doubly loud the next two years to ensure that our conservative voice is heard throughout the Midwest and the country and to ensure that we prevent the newly elected liberals from destroying the society we have worked voraciously to erect.
Friends, with the United States engaged in a global war on terrorism, where the Middle East is the central front, America cannot afford the clumsy, misguided liberal foreign policy goals that will become a reality with liberals in control of the Presidency and Congress. The Bush Doctrine has been one of the boldest and most effective national security doctrines in American history. It has brought a successful fight against Islamic extremists, who seek to debunk the American values we have all come to cherish. Second, the Bush doctrine has been influential in bringing natural law and American Exceptionalism back to foreign policy. With America as the lone superpower in the world today, Americans should expect nothing less than a national security doctrine that embraces those principles through the use of responsible leadership and a continued reliance on the virtues of American Exceptionalism.
The new administration and Congress are going to make it their mission to end America's heroic fight against Islamic extremism--in a time when the United States military and the Iraqi government are making enormous headway against corrupting and dangerous powers. Like you, Pax Americana Institute does not want to see these liberal goals become a reality. Thus, we urge you to fight for conservative principles, by calling members of Congress and alerting them of your displeasure with the way they have been running the country. Second, through grassroots activism and contributions to organizations such as ours, all of us can make America "the shining city upon the hill" once again.
As far as domestic policy is concerned, the new liberal majority is going to drastically increase spending and taxes at a time when America cannot afford to see those increases. The effects of FDR's New Deal and LBJ's Great Society are certainly being felt by the current generation of Americans. We hear constant praise from the left about the greatness of large government entitlements and increased funding; my friends, that is where they are sorely mistaken. The bi-partisan Congressional Budget Office, and our friends at the Cato Institute, project that the unfunded liabilities of Social Security are going to be around $26 trillion dollars by 2042 and, combined with Medicare, the unfunded liabilities will be around $56 trillion dollars. These outrageous budget projections are a result of the careless nature of liberal Presidents and their social programs. With the federal government just having bailed out Wall Street for $700 billion, the budget is going to be tight for the next four years. Under President Obama, and the Congressional liberals, one will see a titanic rise in taxes, spending, and will not see any cost effective reforms in Social Security and Medicare. Under liberal rule, the United States' fiscal future will be on the precipice of destruction. As our good friend Newt Gingrich has said time after time, America is in search of real solutions to Her problems; as conservatives, the burden is now ours. Conservatives have come to believe in limited government, entrepreneurial expansion, American Exceptionalism, lower taxes, and personal ownership. We must continue to fight for those principles and make many of those goals a reality. The Democrats failed to get 60 votes in the Senate; and most of the Republicans in the Senate are ideologically pure conservatives that will carry out these principles. Ronald Reagan once said, "Government is not the solution to our problems; Government is the problem." Friends, under the newly elected liberal majority; government will certainly be the problem. PAI is going to fight for limited government, lower taxes, and drastic reform of America's bloated entitlement system.
America is the greatest bastion of hope, opportunity, and liberty in the history of the world. In order to continue these principles, PAI needs your help. You assistance both financially and in dedication and service will allow our organization to bring conservatism back to the Midwest and America. We want to leave you with one of the most forgotten, yet most important, lines of the Declaration of Independence. That remarkable document that has come to define who we are as a nation stated, "And for the support of this declaration, with a firm reliance on the protection of Divine Providence, we mutually pledge to each other our lives, our fortunes and our sacred honor." The time is now, my friends, for conservatives to make a resurgent comeback, and continue to fight for our conservative principles. PAI seeks to lead this fight and we need your support!
Unstoppably motivated,
Pax Americana Institute.
